HOME OF HOPE FOUNDATION

RUNNING PROJECTS
SEND A SEED PROJECT
We are carrying out a variety of projects in kahunge and Bigodi Town council.
The organisation was originally founded as a women’s group in 2019 and progressively registered in 2020 under government of Uganda as a nonprofit community based organization(CBO).
The purpose of the project is to fight poverty and help directly and indirectly promote plant food against people destroying animals as source of food
Its source of income to participants and also serves as source of food project to fight hunger.
The peasants also use natural organic farmyard manure that does not contain chemicals and which improves soil fertility rate.
The project is to make sure the indigenous good seeds which reproduce good seeds are not made to diminish by the organizations promoting and selling genetically modified seeds which cannot produce seeds but make the peasant continue buying seeds every time of planting.
since September 2021 the women peasants started with bean and maize seeds in that once a home has a good harvest of these two seeds it can have a reasonable diet source and food security, and more so animals in the park being protected.
The women peasants who are provided seeds grow them and on harvesting they provide the same amount of seeds that they were given, to another woman peasant each. Then use the remaining as seeds and some as for food and selling for income hence the name
SEND A SEED TO CONSERVE ENVIRONMENT.
20 kilograms of seeds yield approximately 100 kilograms on harvesting.
Good bean seeds cost Uganda Shs 5000/- per kilogram while Good Maize seeds cost Uganda Shs 2000/- per kilogram
20 Kgs of Bean seeds cost U Shs 100,000/- while 20 kgs Maize seeds cost 40,000/-. Totaling to U Shillings 140,000/- (One hundred forty thousands)
To provide such an amount to at least 150 women peasants
150x 140,000/- = 21,000,000/= (Uganda Shillings Twenty-One millions)
Equivalent to USD 5675 hence the name SEND A SEED TO CONSERVE ENVIRONMENT
The present number of send a seed members are 15.
We wish to increase the number of SEND A SEED TO CONSERVE ENVIRONMENT members to 150.
This will enable them multiply the seeds quickly on harvesting and giving the same amount of seeds each woman to another woman who then joins the group.

Keep girl child in School.
The girl child is seen as a commodity through which can earn live hood especially
Vulnerable families in Uganda.
She is forced and traded into marriage as a child and expected to live as adult and
this has led to many teenage mothers who give birth of children with disabilities
and others die while giving birth because their born are not yet ready for pushing a
baby out. Her dilemma rooted in traditional cultural perception has been escalated
by very many factors.
We work with our sponsors to keep girls in school by providing to them.
